GENTLEWAVE ENDODONTIC RETREATMENT

Are you experiencing pain or discomfort with your root canal?

Teeth that have undergone a root canal will normally last a lifetime with proper care.  Sometimes a tooth that has been treated doesn’t heal properly and can become painful or diseased months or even years after treatment. If your tooth failed to heal or develops new problems, you have a second chance. An additional procedure may be able to support healing and save your tooth. If you start experiencing pain or discomfort in a treated tooth, or if your dentist has informed you an infection has developed, it might be time for a retreatment.

During retreatment, we will reopen your tooth and remove the filling materials that were placed in the root canals during the first procedure. Dr. Sturm will examine your tooth, looking for additional canals or new infection. Unlike a standard root canal, we will be using the most advanced endodontic retreatment device called the GentleWave System for your procedure. The GentleWave Procedure is an advanced combination of fluid dynamics and a broad range of soundwaves that work together to reach into the microscopic spaces and remove bacteria, debris and tissue that standard root canal treatments cannot.
